Premium Custom made European drivers

When it comes to sound quality, performance, consistency and reliabilitry , the choise of loudspeaker's drivers is crucial. At VAL Audio, we decided to not make any compromise and we use only the finest Europian models in custom made versions to meet our technical requirements. They all feature high stiffness weather resistant cones, magnet topology by FEA analysis, cast aluminium basket, high temperature voice coils and efficient cooling system. Moreover, each driver is highly optimized to reach their maximum performance inside our boxes. For that, we use the latest specialized softwares and our engineers closely cooperate with our suppliers.

Advanced cooling system

The more power you send to a driver, the more heat is generated by the voice coil, resulting in efficiency loss. This phenomena is called power compression. ZX 218s HP low frequency driver uses innovative patented cooling system to dramatically reduce power compression. Between magnet and polar piece, a precisely engineered circular plate concentrates air flux into tthe rear vents, acting as convector and diffusor sucking out heat from the voice coil. The result is higher SPL and increased power capacity.

RightPhase crossover

Human hear is very sensitive to phase changes. Phase discontinuities don't sound natural and alter frequency response in vertical and horizontal planes. VAL audio put a lot of effort to make a good horn, using latest Wavelet IR analysis to achieve correct phase. The result is very natural and smooth sound, especially in the critical voice range. The directivity also benefits from our RightPhase crossover with better sound consistency through the audience.

Proprietary UltraTexcoating

Made in France with premium materials and excliusive chemistry composition, VAL audio UltraTex is a new breakthrough in wood cabinet coating technology. Unlike PU (polyurethane) coatings, UltraTex is water base so environment friendly and not toxic for the workers (low VOC). Morever it provides the best protection in the market against scratches, thanks to the surface hardness 30% higher than competitive solutions. Last but not least, as UltraTex is single component, it's easily reparable in the field with a roller.

Impressive excursion capacity

Usually, with standard mid bass drivers,excursion capacity and power handling are limited in order to get high efficiency. With the ZS series, this common equation based on compromises is broken. The secret  is a massive 52mm peak-to-peak excursion capacity.
